Gas Strut Short Lift Stay Cabinet Door Damper

I ordered four of these gas struts from Solmer on their web site and they were delivered very quickly. The 80N strut is a perfect replacement for the dog gate gas struts on my 2011 Volvo XC70 D5 (Volvo PN 39883042) at a fraction of the price. The barrel is slightly longer but that does not cause any problem with the operation of the gate. The threads on the screw thread on the barrel and on the end of the rod attached to the piston are exactly the same so I simply unscrewed the plastic ends from the new struts and replaced them with the plastic ends from the leaking Volvo struts. Now the dog gate doesn't fall down by itself when I drive over a speed bump.
