After the runners on the file drawer of my under-desk pedestal failed, I hunted for replacements and am very happy to have found Solmer. Their web site stood out, not only by offering a sufficiently similar product, but also by giving enough detail to convince me to give this one a try - helped by the very modest price. An exact match for the old runners would be too much to hope for, but these turned out to be close enough to replace the old runners with much less work than I had expected and the drawer now works again as well as it ever did. That's a big win because I was close to giving up and buying a brand new pedestal.

Solmer's web site took my order with no problem and the runners were delivered promptly.

No criticism of Solmer here, but I must point out that these runners are not really suitable for a drawer like mine that holds hanging files. That really should have "full extension" runners. BUT this was a less than top quality pedestal and had been designed to use this sort of runner. The maker improved the extension (though not enough) by fitting the runner well back on the drawer. "Full extension" runners are thicker and broader and simply wouldn't fit. If you are building your own unit then I would recommend designing it to use higher quality drawer runners than these - Solmer's catalogue includes various good looking alternatives.

After hunting high and low found for thin but strong sliding roller ball drawer runners, found these online where based on the dimensions provided on web site, drawer runners were a perfect fit. Fast delivery as well was greatly appreciated.
